In this case, the patient had two porcelain fused to metal crowns that had been in place for close to 30 years. One of the drawbacks to porcelain fused to metal crowns is that sometimes the metal substructure of the crowns can show through, especially at the margins. Newer materials have been developed to address this problem. Pressed ceramics and zirconia dental crowns offer superior esthetics because there is no metal in them and will not show a gray line at the margins. The old porcelain fused to metal crowns in this case were replaced with zirconia crowns to give a much more esthetic outcome.
Dr. Seger and the staff were very pleasant and made you feel right at home. I had concerns about a front tooth that might not be able to be fixed but Dr. Seger did an excellent job and my teeth look great. I can smile again.
